The Apostle wrote these words centuries ago, “give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”(1 Thes. 5:18). As human beings who sometimes suffer loss, disappointments, illnesses and heartaches, how can we give thanks when those things happen? The verse says, give thanks in everything, not for everything. It is normal to grieve our losses and mourn. However, if you are a Christian, you know that He will use these events for our own good. In this time of Thanksgiving, don’t only be thankful for the good, but for the bad as well. Your past hurts often are used to encourage someone else. Be blessed.
