From Despair to Hope. Have you ever been in a situation that overwhelms you? Looking in, it seems there is no way out. Suddenly despair settles in your heart. You begin to lose hope, thinking that nothing will ever change. The Bible says in Romans 15:12, “And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.”. The coming of Christ on earth does not only bring joy, but also hope for those in despair. If you are in a hopeless situation, I want you to reach out to our Savior for hope. He has the power to change a desperate situation to one of hope. Remember the conversation of Mary with Jesus about his dead brother Lazarus. Jesus said, Lazarus’ sickness and death happened for His glory. God knows about your situation. He knows your name and he knows where you live. He is in control. He can reach to the bottom of the pit where you are. He has the power to change your heart and your circumstances. Would you just trust Him?
