We saw last week that a meek person diffuses an aroma of contentment when you’re around him or her.  You don’t have to prove yourself. I Timothy 6:17a says, ” Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain…”.  Exerting arrogance for things which are futile, temporary and uncertain, reflects a certain blindness to reality. We all know that our education, our status quo in life is pointless when we use it to oppress or to make people feel less then.  The fruits of arrogance are loneliness and isolation. Most of us don’t enjoy the company of pompous people. Let’s end with a quote from Steve Jobs, the guy who made Apple a success.  He said, “In the eyes of others, my life has been a symbol of success. However, apart from work, I have little joy…. I realize that all the accolades and riches of which I was once so proud have become insignificant with my eminent death”. Don’t wait for life to humble you.  Let’s humble ourselves. Have a humbled day!
