If there is something we are not good at as human beings is “Prevention”. Many laws that exist today happened because something bad took place. We are a reactive society instead of a preventive one. We make plans for everything: education, money, etc., except self-care. We only start thinking about taking care of our body, emotions, … after we have a breakdown. Wouldn’t it be nice for us to put together a plan for our physical, emotional and spiritual wellness? When was the last time you stopped everything, I mean everything so you can rest? Even God, the Creator of the universe modeled self care for us. “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work” Gen.2:2. Let us practice mental rest this week. For one day, let’s stop worrying, overthinking and enjoy the moment. Enjoy today!
