Fall – A season to reflect. After Summer is over, vacation, barbecues, and parties come to an end.. We begin to return back to our routines: busy roads, school back in session, new project at work, etc. As things slow down, we begin to evaluate life again. We begin to ask questions. Should I stay in this job? What’s important to me in my life? Should I pursue money or something that makes me happy. Is it worth it to continue on this path? The examination forces us to make changes. Not all types of changes are good. We are talking about the ones that evoke a better you or a life that is pleasing to God. Socrates once said “An unexamined life is not worth living”. Paul also said in 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith”. From time to time it’s good, to stop the music and reflect. As Ecclesiastes says, “There is a time for everything.” Fall is your time for reflection. Take a chair, a good book, pen and paper and start writing. I bet, you will start seeing areas that need changes.
