I was thinking of Thanksgiving and realized being thankful is a matter of attitude. Having a heart that is continuously grateful requires contentment and a different mindset. Many of us, we are thankful and grateful when everything goes well: no sickness, no struggles, life is sweet. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. Therefore, if you don’t change your mindset and develop an attitude of gratitude, you will never be thankful. Today and the rest of the week, take time to enjoy life, the trees God has created, the family God has given you, your health, the maturity you have gained through adversities, the people you became friends with because of past struggles, health, the medical staff that is taking care of you, the Word of God, the assurance you have in Jesus Christ, etc. Write a list and you will never finish. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Develop a mind of gratefulness and thankfulness. You will be happier. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
