Everyone loves their freedom. Throughout centuries, many nations have fought to be free. No one enjoys slavery. Easter reminds us of a great battle that took place thousands of years ago at the Garden of Gethsemane to free us from the bondage of sins. Twice Jesus asked His Father to remove the cup, but He submitted to His Father’s will and continued with his mission for freedom. Today, we are free to live a life that is pleasing to God because of his death on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”. It means our lives are no longer worldly, but spiritual. We have to live as free people. Christ has paid the price. We are free indeed.
