The tongue is a small organ in the human body, but very powerful. With it, we can construct or destroy; build or break, bring peace or chaos. The Bible talks about taming the tongue. James 3:7 says, “All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison”. But, with the help of God, we can learn to use our tongue to construct, not to tear down. Remember, the next time you’re going to use the tongue, think about the consequences of what you’re going to say. Will it build, destroy or construct? Will it cause peace or chaos? That should be our goal for year 2019, taming our tongue. Happy New Year to all of you.
