You’re Important and Needed
Whoever told you that you were not important? Whoever told you that you were not needed?
Whoever told you that a mother could fill your role? If you want to know how important you are, ask the little girl and boy who are wishing upon the star for your return. Who have tears in their eyes when friends ask them if your daddy’s coming to the game. You want to know how important your role is in the home? Ask the little boy and girl who wished you were there to read them a bedtime story, pray with and for them.
Ask the grown man who wished they had you as a role model on how to be a dad. Ask the grown women who wished you had walked them down the aisle on their wedding day. Men, you are important and needed in the home. No one can fill the void that you left behind or replace you. You are dad. It’s not too late to go back and make things right. And for those are fulfilling their roles day after day, keep up the good work. And for my black brothers, we need you more than ever to step up and be role models for those are left with no dads. The world needs men like you and your children need you. “Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers”. Proverbs 17:6.
